I live in Nashville.

It does snow here. Really.

But, um, hello? The weather guy did NOT say it was going to snow like that.

Now, I know to the northern folks, that amount of snow is nothing. Actually, it's not much to me, either.

Except that Tennessee has one snowplow and we all have to share it.

It was elsewhere today.

It took me one hour to drive 5 miles, from the interstate to my neighborhood, for a couple of reasons.

1. There was a line of 40387 cars in front of me and they were all going reaaaalllly, reaaaaallly slow.

2. There was a lumpy, bumpy layer of ice all over the road which makes the hills and curves a bit of a challenge.

But, it's beginning to look a LOT like Christmas. Maybe I should get the stupid tree out this weekend.

no, for me that's nothing but my area is prepared for that. for you guys it's dangerous as hell. very few down there know how to drive in those conditions and there aren't enough plows to keep the roads clear when it continues to come down. preperation has a lot to do with how bad stuff like that is.

poor speedbump. she's destined to spend the day locked in some room and weeks being told 'no! that wonder of a gym is NOT yours to play on!'
(does she eat tinsel too? every damn cat i've ever had has eaten tinsel. i stopped using it after pulling a piece out of toby's ass. there's plenty of other things to use instead.)

Heather~ I learned to drive in the snow in Chicago so it really wouldn't have been a big deal if everyone else would've stayed home.

I usually use a beaded garland - less for Speedbump to eat.

OMG!!! Wow! That stuff came dangerously close to us yesterday. And - you guys have a snow plow???? That's better than us down here!

Knit Witch~ I have heard rumors of this thing called a "plow", but I have never actually seen one here.

Was there enough to build a snowman?

Neil~ Yes, there was enough for a snowman but since I had to work, I didn't get to play in it and that really sucked.
